TRAP carries out various functions on behalf of its members. The core functions are as follows:

		conducts investigations into the manufacture and sale of counterfeit merchandise
		carries out test purchases from suspected sources and develops a case history suitable for bringing an enforcement action
		pools information on alleged offenders through its contacts with the police, trading standards and other anti-counterfeit units
		assists trading standards and the police authorities in seizing product and provides a database of members' products, trade marks, copyrights, design rights, etc
		prepares and provides Witness Statements and coordinates attendance at Court for agents and members
		advises on legal and evidential aspects arising out of enforcement cases and pursues criminal and civil remedies including injunctive proceedings
		provides a confidential twenty-four hour hotline for anti-piracy tip offs; and facilitates and coordinates security for concert venues to prevent counterfeit sales of merchandise
